Ronald Hickland Jr. is the CEO of Creating the Difference, a leading bowling performance brand focused on advancing the understanding of ball motion, surface, and lane interaction through data-driven innovation. With nearly 15 years of experience as a bowling ball designer, Ronald built his reputation by combining engineering principles with real-world application to challenge long-standing industry assumptions.
A graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ronald began his career at Ebonite International, where he played a key role in designing bowling balls for four brands and developing performance technologies used by bowlers at every level. His work helped shape modern perspectives on ball motion and surface preparation.
In 2015, he founded Creating the Difference with a mission to bring transparency, education, and measurable results to the bowling industry. Under his leadership, the company has become known for its innovative product line and its commitment to educating bowlers through seminars, digital content, and hands-on training.

Since our inception in May 2015, Creating the Difference, under the leadership of CEO Ronald Hickland Jr, has been at the forefront of innovation in the bowling industry. We have developed a range of products, such as sanding pads designed specifically for bowling balls, multifunctional cleaning pads, and groundbreaking new categories of products like performance soaks. Each product launch is supported by comprehensive educational materials explaining the product's purpose, usage, and impact on the game.
Our successful product line and educational initiatives have propelled Creating the Difference into a multi-million dollar company with locations in multiple states and sales spanning both international and domestic markets. We operate a warehouse in Clarksville, TN, and an Education Center in Hopkinsville, KY, where bowlers can practice, attend classes, receive coaching, and utilize our pro shop services. Our growth has enabled us to collaborate with partners such as Turtle Wax™ as we continue to innovate and expand our product offerings.
